Notice for Intern & Project Students of BBA Program in Spring 2018

Notice

A seminar on “How to Write Internship/Project Report and Make Presentation” will be held on December 13, 2017 (Wednesday) at 2:45 pm at Room # 501 & 502 of the School of Business. Students of BBA Program planning to go for Internship/Project Work in Spring 2018 are instructed to attend the seminar accordingly. Students will have to fill up the Database Form on the same day for enlisting themselves in the Internship/Project list of Spring 2018. No student will be listed as Intern or Project Student for Spring 2018 without attending the seminar.

BBA Batch-wise Course Advising_Late Enrollment_Spring 2018

This is to notify that the students of BBA program who have not enrolled and got advised yet for Spring 2018 are instructed to enroll from 13 December 2017, Wednesday to 14 December 2017, Thursday. Students are instructed to get advised from the under-mentioned faculty members as per the given schedule. Students will have to pay the required enrollment fees and show the money receipt to the adviser prior to being advised. No students will be entertained after the mentioned deadlines.

School of Business Organized a Seminar on “Career Tips and CV Writing”

School of Business of Uttara University organized a seminar on “Career Tips and CV Writingon 7 December 2017, Thursday at 3.00pm at IQAC Seminar Hall of Uttara University, Bangladesh for the Student Ambassadors of SOB. The Key Resource Person of the seminar was Mr. Moinuddin Chowdhury, CEO of Society for Leadership Skills Development and Secretary General of BOLD. Prof. Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Business of Uttara University Chaired the seminar. Professor Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Chairman, Department of Business Administration of Uttara University welcomed all the guests and the participants of the seminar at the beginning of the program. Mr. Moinuddin Chowdhury explained the differences of Resume and Curriculum Vitae. He gave a case study in the seminar and instructed the students to prepare their CVs based on the format he explained. He also gave some career tips to the student ambassadors for building their future career in corporate sector of Bangladesh and Abroad. Faculty members of Department of Business Administration, Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Mr. Md Sharif Hossain, Mr. Zahid Hasan, and Ms. Saida Sultana were also present in the seminar. More than 60 Student Ambassadors of SOB attended the seminar.

School of Business of Uttara University organized a seminar on “Distribution & Retail Management in Telecom Industry” on 6 December 2017, Wednesday at 3.00pm at IQAC Seminar Hall, of Uttara University, Bangladesh. The Key Resource Person of the seminar was Ms. Farzana Rahman, General Manager & Head of Retail Governance & Operation, Distribution and REtail Sales, Commerial Division, Grameenphone. Mr. Dipok Kumar Banik, Specialist of Retail Channel Management & Trade Marketing, Mr. Alamin Bari, Specialist of Distribution and Retail Sales & Mr. Quazi Mostafizur Rahman, Specialist of Distribution and Retail Sales of Grameenphone were also present in the team of Grameenphone. Prof. Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Business of Uttara University Chaired the program. Professor Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Chairman, Department of Business Administration of Uttara University welcomed all the guests and the participants of the seminar at the beginning of the program. Ms. Farzana Rahman talked about Distribution and Retail Management of Grameenphone. She also covered Channel Marketing of Grameenphone. Faculty members of Department of Business Administration, Mr. Suntu Kumar Ghosh, Mr. Amitava Bose Bapi, Ms. Saida Sultana and Coordinator of BBA program Md. Mohedul Islam were also present in the seminar. More than 120 students of School of Business attended the seminar.

University Team Visited Rafiqul Islam School & College, Kashimpur, Gazipur

Uttara University organized a seminar on “Higher Education Opportunities in Bangladesh and Abroad” at Rafiqul Islam School & College, Kashimpur, Gazipur, Bangladesh on 27 November 2017, Monday. A high-powered team led by Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University conducted the seminar.  As a part of the CSR programs, Uttara University jointly organized this seminar with the Rafiqul Islam School & College. Md. Saidur Rahman, Lecturer & College Coordinator of Rafiqul Islam School & College delivered the welcome speech in the seminar. The seminar was Chaired by the Principal of the College, Prof. Md. Enamul Haque. Prof. Mumtaz Begum, Professor and Treasurer of Uttara University, Prof. Dr. Ayesha Begum, Chairman of Dept. of Bengali and Dr. Md. Mijanur Rahman, Associate Professor of Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering were also in the Uttara University team. All the speakers highlighted future career of the students in their speeches. They also explained the programs of Uttara University to the students. Mr. Anichur Rahman, Senior Assistant Director, Centre for Career Development anchored the program. Md. Faruqur Rahman, Assistant Programmer Uttara University also accompanied the team. More than 200 HSC students and about 60 teachers of Rafiqul Islam School & College attended the seminar.

Course Advising (BBA Program) for Enrollment of Spring 2018

This is to notify that Uttara University is going to introduce online advising for students through faculty members for Spring 2018. Hence, all the students of BBA program are instructed to enroll/get advised for regular and retake courses for Spring 2018 from 03 December 2017, Sunday to 07 December 2017, Thursday as per the deadlines given in the notice boards and university website. Students will have to pay the required enrollment fees prior to being advised. No students will be advised after the mentioned deadlines.

A Day long Workshop on “How to be Professional” at School of Business of Uttara University, Bangladesh

School of Business of Uttara University, Bangladesh organized a daylong workshop on “How to be Professional” on 14 October 2017 Saturday at the IQAC Seminar Hall of the university. Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro Vice Chancellor of Uttara University was present as the Chief Guest at the Certificate Awarding Session of the program. The program was Chaired by Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Business of Uttara University. Professor Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Chairman of Department of Business Administration welcomed the participant Students Ambassadors in the closing session. The workshop was facilitated by five senior faculty members of School of Business as Resource Persons. The seminar was started at 10:00am with the lecture of Associate Professor of the School, Dr. Md. Zamanur Rahman. Dr. Rahman delivered lecture on the topic “Etiquette, Manner & Attire” while Assistant Professor, Mr. Suntu Kumar Ghosh delivered lecture on “Effective Communications & Networking”. Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Assistant Professor of the School spoke on the topic “How to Interact and Face Interview” and Professor Dr. ASM Shahabuddin delivered lecture on “Integrity and Ethics in Behavior”. The last speaker was Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam who spoke on the topic “Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Intelligence (EI or EQ)” in the workshop. The moderators of Ambassador Program of School of Business Md. Sharif Hossain, Saida Sultana, and Mr. Zahidul Islam also attended the workshop. Fifty two Student Ambassadors of School of Business attended the daylong workshop.
