এ উপলক্ষে উত্তরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পক্ষ থেকে ষ্টুডেন্ট এ্যাফেয়ারস-এর ডিরেক্টর প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ জামানুর রহমান-এর নেতৃত্বে শিক্ষক, কর্মকর্তা ও ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের একটি দল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন অনুষদ হতে প্রভাতফ্রেরী যাত্রা শুরু করে উত্তরা কেন্দ্রীয় শহীদ মিনারে পৌঁছে পুষ্পস্তাবক প্রদানের মাধ্যমে শহীদরে প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলী অর্পণ করেন। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্যদের মাঝে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন ষ্টুডেন্ট এ্যাফেয়ারস এর এডিশনাল ডিরেক্টর ও এ্যাসিসন্ট্যাট প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ গোলাম মোর্শেদ, মনির হোসেন, প্রভাষক, ইংরেজি বিভাগ, মোঃ আব্দুর রহিম রেজা, ডেপুটি রেজিস্ট্রার, আনিসুর রহমান, সিনিয়র এ্যাসিসন্ট্যাট ডিরেক্টর, কেরিয়ার কাউন্সিলিং ও মোঃ আব্দুল মান্নান, সেকশন অফিসার, সদস্যবৃন্দ স্টুডেন্ট এ্যাম্বাসেডর ও কালচারাল ক্লাব, উত্তরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।

Noble initiative to arrange research colloquium on monthly basis

School of Business has taken a noble initiative to arrange research colloquium on monthly basis. Purpose of this colloquium is to foster knowledge sharing culture and enhance research and professional writing skills of faculty members who can present their ongoing research, past significant publications and share research materials & experiences.

The first research colloquium was held today (13 February 2019) at IQAC Seminar Hall where Professor Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Chairman, DBA spoke on Connecting with Your Reader: (Re)Creating Your Self and Your Audience. All of the faculty members of DBA were present. Research Club played an active role to organize the colloquium. The next colloquium will be held tentatively on 13 March 2019. Mr. Soeb Md. Shoayeb Noman, Assistant Professor, DBA will present his paper on The Impact of FDI on Economic Growth of Bangladesh.

 

Well-wishing program for Ms Saida Sultana, Senior Lecture

Department of Business Administration organized a well-wishing program for Ms Saida Sultana, Senior Lecturer of the department on the 13th February 2019. She is going to pursue M.Phil study in Australia and she will be on leave from 1st of March 2019. Faculty members congratulated her on such an achievement and wished her educational journey to be meaningful and successful.

Orientation Spring-2019 for BBA, MBA and EMBA Program

A daylong Orientation Program of Spring-2019 for the fresher of School of Business was organized on 02 February 2019 at the Conference Hall of the Department of Business Administration. Corporate guest Ms. Farjana Rahman, Head of Retail Quality Management, Operations Division, GrameenPhone Ltd. and high officials of Uttara University gave fresher many valuable suggestions and instructions in the morning session. Dr. M. Azizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, UU, Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro-VC, UU, Registrar, UU and corporate guest Mr. Nure A. Khan, President, Bangladesh Society for Apparel’s Human Resource Professionals (BSAHRP) joined in the evening session. Students were highly motivated by their valuable speeches and advices. In between these two sessions, there was an hour long cultural program where students performed songs and other activities.

Cultural Club of the School of Business and Abbriti Sanggho of Uttara University jointly arranged a daylong Pitha Festival

Cultural Club of the School of Business and Abbriti Sanggho of Uttara University jointly arranged a daylong Pitha Festival on 30th January 2019 (Wednesday) at the IQAC Seminar Hall. It was organized under the umbrella of the Office of Students Affairs (OSA). Pitha festival was followed by a cultural program. The festival was expected to promote the Bengali culture as well as develop entrepreneurship skills among young students of the school. Prof Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro- Vice Chancellor, UU was the chief guest, Major Gen. Md. Masud Rezwan, psc, Director General, Department of Immigration and Passports, GOB and Dr. Md. Abdul Baqui, Professor CQU University Australia, Melbourne were present as special guests of this festival. Prof. Dr. Shahabuddin, Chairman, DBA and Prof. Dr. Md. Zamanur Rahman, Director, OSA, and both of the special guests visited all the pitha stalls with Prof. Lekha.

Awarding certificates to the outgoing student ambassadors

SoB, UU organized a program for awarding certificates to the outgoing student ambassadors on 16th January 2019 at 2:45pm at IQAC Seminar Hall. All student ambassadors, class representatives and faculty members were present at the program. Students’ contributions for the development of the School as well the University was acknowledged and appreciated. Moderators of Student Ambassadorship Program were thanked for arranging this program.

Sharing information about forthcoming career fair

Center for Career Development (CCD), School of Business, Uttara University organized a forum on 16 Jan 2019 for sharing information about forthcoming career fair with students and faculty members. It was informed that the career fair would be arranged centrally in the month of September 2019. The fair will be open to all interested students of Uttara University. Department of Business Administration will select and nurture the students of business program for the fair. Tentative selection and nurturing mechanisms were also explained.

Career Camp on Your Campus from DBA

Around sixty (60) recent graduates of School of Business (SoB), Uttara University (UU) participated in a program named “Career Camp on Your Campus” under SEIP (Skills for Employment Invested Programs). This program was organized by “genex” and hosted by SoB, UU held at IQAC Seminar Hall on 12 January 2019 at 04.30 PM. Genex Deputy Manager, Training and Development, Mr. Mohammad Akter Hossain along with his reputable staff conducted this program for our graduates.

Career Tips for Recent BBA Graduates

Recent BBA graduates (36th batch) of School of Business of Uttara University participated in a program titled “Career Tips for Recent BBA Graduates” on 12 January 2019 at IQAC Seminar Hall at 03.00 PM. They were congratulated on their graduation and well-wished in their future careers. It was pleasant to observe that five (5) of the present graduates have already been employed in several organizations. The program was attended by Chairman, Prof. Dr. ASM Shahabuddin along with senior faculty members of DBA, UU.

School of Business of Uttara University Organized a Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the “Dean’s List” Awardees 2017 on 10 December 2018 at 3:30pm at the IQAC Seminar Hall of the university. Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean of School of Business distributed the certificates among the awardees. Professor Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Chairman of Department of Business Administration, Professor Dr. DNR Paul, Director of IQAC, Dr. Sharmina Afrin, Associate Professor and Head of SAC, Dr. Zamanur Rahman, Associate Professor and Director of Student Affairs, and Mr. Mahamudul Hasan, Associate Professor of School of Business also attended the program. Mr. Absar Kamal, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of MBA/EMBA Programs anchored the program. Seventy awardees attended the program and received certificates.
